G Ritusen
G · A · C · D · E
A Japanese pentatonic built from the root, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth, G Ritusen contains no thirds at all, which leaves it suspended between major and minor. The result is open and airy, well suited to fingerstyle, ambient, and folk playing. It's also a mode of the major pentatonic, so the shapes may already be under your fingers.
