F Major Augmented

Also called Ionian ♯5, F Major Augmented is a major scale with a raised fifth, the third mode of harmonic minor's major counterpart. The augmented fifth keeps the scale from resolving comfortably despite the major third and leading tone. Its natural home is over maj7♯5 chords in jazz and modern film writing.
