A Lydian Pentatonic
A · C♯ · D♯ · E · G♯
Also called the Chinese scale, A Lydian Pentatonic takes the root, major third, raised fourth, fifth, and major seventh. It's a five-note condensation of Lydian that keeps only its brightest and most characteristic notes, so the raised fourth is impossible to miss. Excellent over major seventh chords where you want a floating, cinematic quality.
