A♯ Oriental

A♯ Oriental combines a flat second, major third, flat fifth, natural sixth, and flat seventh, giving two augmented seconds and a strongly Middle Eastern flavour. The diminished fifth alongside the major third makes it genuinely unstable. Best used for atmosphere and exotic melodic writing rather than functional harmony.
