The sixth mode of melodic minor, A♯ Locrian #2 is a Locrian scale with the second raised back to natural. That one change removes the harshest part of Locrian while keeping the flat fifth, which makes it the standard choice over half-diminished chords. Essential for playing the ii chord in minor jazz progressions.
