A♯ Balinese

A♯ Balinese takes the root, flat second, minor third, fourth, fifth, flat sixth, and major seventh — a minor scale with a flat second and a leading tone. The two semitone clusters give it a tense, gamelan-inspired flavour. Effective for atmospheric writing where a conventional minor scale would sound too familiar.
