A suspended second replaces the third with a major second, so A♭sus2 is neither major nor minor — just open and unresolved. That ambiguity makes it a favourite of folk, indie, and jangly rock guitarists, where letting it ring against a droning open string adds colour without committing to a mood. It typically resolves back to the plain triad.
